“ Great international food store! Laid out for cultural areas. Lots of fresh produce. Fish market. Nice staff. ”
“ My trip here was nice as I was able to find some things can't find at other stores. Was looking for beer salt I wound up getting online. Did find some Asian and Hispanic goodies ”
“ The very best tacos in town are served at the indoor cafe inside Food Maxx. Go when international soccer games are on and the ambience is fantastic. Really a lot of fun and great food. ”
“ A nice international grocery store with a wide selection of foods from around the world. Sauces and kool-ades. ”
“ The best international grocery store in Harrisonburg. They have fresh produce and meats. If you come from an ethnic background or if you simply want to make an ethnic dish, this is your place. I frequently visit here about once per week. Without this place, I wouldn't be able to make authentic Thai food and Vietnamese food. I hope others appreciate this store and it's location ”
“ This international supermarket is a lifesaver for someone who doesn't have access to their hometown foods. I'm from NoVA where there are many Korean products and foods readily available. Harrisonburg on the other hand...yeah no. After browsing around, they might not have the freshest produce and meats, but they definitely delivered on the Korean products that I was looking for. Gochujang, gochu flakes, soybean paste, yellow radish, sesame seeds, and rice. These are ingredients that are essential when it comes to making Korean food. With this market in town, I'll still be able to have some sense of what home tastes like! ”
“ While my husband was on assignment in VA we lived in the area for a couple of months. I wondered where I would get my ethnic seasonings from since this isn't a very culture diverse town. Well, I drive past this market and decided to stop in and to my surprise they had everything from Jamaican jerk seasoning to West Indian curry powder straight from Trinidad West Indies. Now of course you don't come here to buy fresh produce. Stick to Kroger and the likes for that, however o definitely recommend this place for packaged ethnic spices and foods. They have Indian Hispanic Caribbean and middle eastern stuff. This place is a gem in such a t ”
“ Can't believe this place is located in Harrisonburg! International fruits and vegetables, meats, live and fresh seafood, spices, groceries, frozen foods. Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Pakistani, Afghanistani, Indian (North and South), African, Jamaican, Caribbean, Mexican, South American......I really can't name every culture you can find here. I love this place. If it weren't so far to drive, I'd do at least 50% of my shopping here (not a lot of American stuff, but some). ”
“ At the western edge of Harrisonburg, you can get another glimpse of the larger world. FoodMaxx is a large grocery store filled with Latino, Chinese, Korean, Middle Eastern, Indian and other foods. There are fresh vegetables, odd things only seen in cookbooks, cut meat and fresh seafood. A cross between big box foods and a local market in a big city. There are nice Latino and Asian markets in Harrisonburg, but this is on a whole different scale. My wife and I often drive from our home in Staunton to Harrisonburg after we drooled over a cookbook or remembered a meal in Turkey or Ecuador. There is some unevenness but that's what makes life fun. ”
